Developing children as thinkers and creative problem solvers, through an arts-infused curriculum.

We provide a high-quality, half-day, arts-infused preschool program for a diverse population of families. Our diversity is a source of strength, providing us with a rich social interaction between families from different cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, and languages spoken.  Our curriculum is based on the Reggio Emilia approach.

Why your child should be at the Creative Learning Center

·         Classes are interactive.  The children transition between the Music Room, Circle Room, Free Choice Room, Art Table, and playground to keep their bodies as well as their minds involved in the curriculum.

·         Well-trained staff.  With degrees in Education and Child Development along with many years of experience, our staff is knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

·         Creative curriculum.  Our students are actively involved in painting, music, dance, sculpture, and much more.  We have an annual Art Show which displays the students work at the UNC School of the Arts and the art gallery at Salem College.

·         Our classes are small so that each child gets ample attention from the teachers.  Our student-to-teacher ratio is no more than 5 students per teacher for the younger classes and no more than 8 students per teacher for the older students.

·         Frequent field trips – most of which are free!  Because we are located behind the UNC School of the Arts we walk to the school to enjoy watching classes in ballet, hearing different musical instruments, visiting the dance costume shop, and having an October Costume Parade, and a Chinese New Year Dragon Parade to the campus.

·         Our focus is on social and academic development.  We believe that religious beliefs are best taught at your home or place of worship.

·         Safe environment.  Our outdoor areas are completely enclosed.  We are located adjacent to the UNC School of the Arts and have their police patrolling all around our school on a regular basis.

·         Free parenting classes.  We offer many classes, such as Setting Limits, Positive Discipline, and School Readiness. These are taught by various qualified individuals from licensed psychologists to CLC staff members.
