Registration: Application with registration fee must be received before any consideration.  Priority is given to CLC and UNC School of the Arts families, then to the general public.  The contract between CLC and the parents is for the September through May school year.  A waiting list is kept when all openings are filled. For a child to be eligible for any age group, they must be the proper age on or before August 31 of that year.  This is consistent with the Public School System's new entrance requirements.  The youngest age group must be 18 months and walking well.

Tuition and Fee Schedule: Fees must accompany all applications.  Tuition is payable in advance and is due the first of each month for nine months.  September tuition is due May 15 or upon enrollment.  Subsequent  payments are due the first of each month beginning September 1st (i.e.,  Oct. tuition is due Sept 1, Nov. tuition is due Oct. 1 etc.)   Payments received after the 10th will incur a $10 late charge.  Keep in mind that we hire staff based on the number of children enrolled.  Therefore, once your child is enrolled you assume responsibility for tuition, regardless of absences.

Flexi-Schedule:  With flexible scheduling, families may take advantage of our Multi-Age program to increase their child's enrollment per week.  For example, if your child is enrolled in the 2-3's or 3-4's program, you may enroll in the Multi-Age class, which will provide you with a three or four day program.  If you combine the Monday Multi-Age class with another program, add $70 per add-on day to your monthly tuition.  If your child is enrolled in two programs (ie: Little People and 2-3's), you pay the combined total for both classes.  Payment plans are available.  Call the office for details.

Dues: We at the CLC hope you will enjoy being part of the September family potluck picnic, the May “Spring Fling”, the Art Show Opening, Parent Lunch Bunch/guest speakers, Johnson's “Getting to Know You” parent’s party, etc.
To share in paying  for these and other activities and supplies for all parents and children, a $20 supplies fee is for consumable items.  $10 in dues goes to the Parents Council; an advisory and planning group for the school.

Extended Care Options: Lunch Bunch (Child brings own lunch & beverage) - Monday through Thursday -2-3s, 3-4's, & 4-5's: $4.00/ hour (12:00-12:55); Little People: $4.50 (11:45 - 12:55pm).  Must be picked up by 1:00pm or late fee will be charged.  Lunch Bunch is billed after the end of the month and due within 10 days. No charge for your child if you are the parent helper that day.

Program Withdrawal: A minimum of 30 days notice is required to enable CLC to fill the vacancy.  Less notice will automatically require another month's tuition.  Once your child is enrolled, you assume responsibility for tuition regardless of absences.

Refunds: Parent Group dues and insurance fees are not refundable. Registration fee is refundable only if moving from town prior to August 31.  Tuition refunds require 30 days notice. Holidays, absences for illness, snow days or family trips do not reduce tuition.

Parent Participation:
The Creative Learning Center believes that parents are a vital part of the child’s education experience.  Our program is a modified parent cooperative.  As such, during the school year we would like for each family to work 16 hours or 4 days for one child (24 hours or 6 days for 2 children), plus 3 hours of workday activities on the playground or inside the building.  Parents can also choose to serve on the PARENTS COUNCIL, which helps plan events throughout the year.  Mothers, fathers, grandparents, caregivers, and teachers work side-by-side to provide the best possible learning experience.  It is our firm belief that parent involvement not only benefits the child, but also provides parents with much needed support and challenging interactions that help to reframe preconceived notions about parenting, behavioral issues, and setting educational goals for their child.

The Creative Learning Center staff and administrators are committed to interacting in a respectful and thoughtful manner with all of our parents, with the intention of making the experience beneficial for all involved.  Parents have the opportunity to schedule a conference with teachers at any point throughout the year.

If you are unable to work classroom hours, we are flexible.  Exceptions can be granted on a case by case basis.  There are many ways you can be involved if parent helper days in the classroom do not work for your family.

Medical Records: Each child must have a current health report on file before entering in September. Children must have the required inoculations up to date.

Summer Camp through the Arts is a separate program and requires a registration fee of $25.00.
